As a keen seventeen year old surfer, searching for God, Wendy encountered the message about Jesus in a fresh way through Christian Surfers on Cronulla Beach, Sydney – an unlikely but wonderful answer to her prayers.
After working as a graphic designer in the advertising industry, she and her husband Shaun, went on to study theology at Sydney Missionary & Bible College. Following that, Wendy was employed to work in Christian ministry on the campus of the University of Western Sydney. In 2001 – 2002, with two small sons, Wendy worked with the Anglican Department of Evangelism and then from 2003 with Gospel Communications, sharing the gospel at a variety of women’s events and conferences. In 2002-3 she participated in the Arrow Leadership Australia programme. In 2009 she was employed by her home church, Austinmer Anglican, as Evangelism Co-ordinator. She loves introducing people to Jesus and designing creative events that help the church family engage with the wider community. She feels that God has used each of these ‘seasons’ in her life to train her in gospel ministry.
Wendy and Shaun love being seeing God at work in the small coastal community where they live with their three children. She enjoys early morning walks, the beach with her kids, movies in summer in her garden, city escapes and cooking for friends. She loves to read but always has a pile of half finished books beside her bed.
